  This is a map of ancient Sri Lanka .The name Ceilan is written on the top left-hand corner. A bay and several points can be seen on the map. There is a ship shown on the map. The country is surrounded by the sea. The map shows a lot of mountains, trees and animals such as elephant, deer, fox etc. The map includes names different places, sea and other important landmarks in a different language.

The identity of Ptolemy's Taprobane has been a source of confusion, but it appeared to be the present day Sri Lanka on the medieval maps of Abu Rehan 1030 and Edrisi 1154 and in the writing of Marco Polo 1292 .
